OMBob It's Cold! Wednesday

Hello:

Such a beautiful day today.  But, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!  so cold.We have no clouds at all to act as a blanket holding in our warmth, so it is super cold.

Today was the parade for the Seattle Seahawks, 2014 Super Bowl Champions.  It is estimated that more than 700,000 people went to downtown Seattle to watch the parade.  Our governor, Jay Inslee, asked for a moment of noise at 12:12 pm this afternoon, celebrating the loud Seahawks fans, the "12th man" on the team.  I was subbing at a school in Bellevue for the afternoon.  I arrived at about 12:10, just in time to hear the Principal announce the moment of sound over the loud speaker, and hear the students break out cheering.  I also heard cars in the area honking their horns.  It was really fun.

The crazy crowd downtown kept a few of our Eastside Stitchers from making it back to Bellevue in time for our meet up at Crossroads.  The cold might also have kept a few people away.  But we had a lively group at the round table near Half-Price Books.

Alphabetadell brought two of her finished  baby outfits for show and tell.
She is knitting four of these cute suits, and was working on one tonight.
Pam2 brought a scarf she is knitting with some of the yarn Caam704 brought to the group a few weeks ago.  The yarn is 50% wool/50% silk.
JulieMustKnit has started a hat with the alpaca yarn she got in the Christmas Swap.  It is soooo soft.
Although Tara1682 works in SoDo and was caught in all of the Parade Traffic when she left work, she made it to knitting! She has started a lovely lace shawl.
She said something about it looking like cat barf at this stage, but even this early on, you can see how lovely the lace yarn is and a bit of the pattern.

VanesaPolo made it for about an hour of "adult" time.  She has made it past the sleeve holes on her Flared Baby Jacket.
Chockelet dropped in to share her gorgeous finished 2014 Advent Calendar Scarf.
She started late, because her yarn didn't arrive for a few days, but was able to finish the scarf on time.  This photo doesn't do it justice.  It is really beautiful.

Chockelet also brought two Follow Your Arrow Mystery shawls.  She is knitting them with opposite pattern clues.
We are getting ready for the Olympic Opening Ceremonies Party.  I am still trying to decide what I will knit during the Games.  I am thinking of making an Aviatrix hat, and possibly a pair of socks.  We got a new pattern for The Bleeping SockGames that I haven't cast on yet.

Peace,
f1bercat
shaping the planet with yarny friends and a parade downtown.
