Former student of mine!

Hello:
One of my Geometry students from last year won the World Chess Championship.  She is such a great kid.  Fun and funny, obviously smart as can be, and just generally nice.  I am so proud of her.

Peace,

Pokemon Update 12/31/2016

via Instagram http://ift.tt/2iR5izZ
Hello:
The above photo is a screen shot of my Pokedex.  This morning, after hitting the gym (the real gym not the one in Pokemon Go), I stopped at the grocery store to get the stuff to make Eggnog, which is a Christmas tradition in my family.  Usually we have a tree decorating party about a week before Christmas when everyone is home from college, and we drink homemade eggnog.  Since I was in London (#ChristmasinLondon), we couldn't have our party, so Doc waited Christmas for me to come home.  We are opening presents today, and having a lunch together.  I thought it would be fun to have the eggnog today.

Anyway, while I was at Crossroads, I was playing Pokemon. That is about the only place I play the game.  And there is some big event for the holidays, with lots of good monsters out, and I found a Charmander, a Squirtle, and a Bulbasaur!  I now have 82 different monsters in my Pokedex.

Peace,

The 5th Beatle

2016 Mosiac Advent Scart through Day Dec 12
Hello:
Today was a dream day for me.
Moogie and I went to Camden Town.

We walked to the Camden Market, which is next to a working canal at the Camden Lock

We bought falafel wraps from a stall in the market (yum!)
and then ate them while walking along the canal towards Primrose Hill.

We walked through Primrose Hill park
to Abbey Road.  Yes, THAT Abbey Road.  This is a photo of Abbey Road Studios.

On the famous corner, Moogie took a video of me walking across, just like one of the Beatles.

All we are saying, is give Peace a chance,

Hyde Park

Prince Albert Memorial in Hyde Park
Hello:
These photos are all from Hyde Park.  Moogie lives close enough that she often runs in the park.  We walked through the park to the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Princess Diana Memorial Fountain
The V & A had 2 great fiber exhibitions.  One was on medieval embroidery done in England called Opus Anglicanum.
Along the Serpentine
Another was on the history of underwear.  This had some really neat pieces, but I have to say that I did not like how it was organized.  It wasn't chronological, and it wasn't by type or function.
Peter Pan
The final exhibit was called: You Say You Want A Revolution: Records and Rebels.  This was so much fun.

It was mixed media with film, music, memorabilia, clothing, album covers, art, writing, etc.  Of course, I loved all of the music.

Italian Gardens
And some of the memorabilia was amazing, such as lyrics to Beatles songs in their own handwriting.

The videos about Civil Rights struggles in the USA were tough to watch.  It was a wonderful exhibit.

Peace,

Christmas in London

Hello:
One of the things I have enjoyed as Moogie and I walk around London is the holiday decorations.  Many of the streets have these light displays.
Each street has its own theme.
Because we are even farther north than the Pacific Northwest, my home, the sun sets by about 3:30, and even if you aren't out late (though we often are as we have been going out to eat at some very fun restaurants), you get to see the displays.

Peace,

On Christmas Day, Moogie and I walked to Holland Park.  Poor Lord Holland.

Merry Christmas!
