New and Old at Eastside Stitchers

Hello!

Crossroads Mall in Bellevue, was hopping tonight with a full table of Eastside Stitchers.  We were missing some of our best buds due to Weddings, Hawaii, work, and well, where are you Jen and Cleo?  But, we had to keep scooting around the table to make room for our friends as they arrived to stitch.  I guess I can say "knit" tonight, because other than fixing the final row on one of my BAMCAL squares, everyone present brought knitting.

Who was there, and what were they knitting?

Skeinherder brought the beautiful Norma Blanket (pattern by Meghan Jones) that she had brought last week.  Sorry the photo absolutely does not do the color or the blanket any favors.  This is a very lovely piece of knitting.

We had the best talk about "process" and "project" knitting.  I asked Skeinherder how big the blanket would be when she was finished, and she told me that she has no idea.  She has never knit anything like this before, and it would just be a surprise.  I love it!  There is something wonderful about knitters who are willing to just discover along the way.

Colleen was back!  O! so wonderful to see her.  She had been missing since before I left for So. Cal. due to illness, and she looked wonderful.  She claimed to still not be completely up to snuff, but of course you wouldn't know it by her knitting.  Colleen brought the most interesting yarn.  It is an Italian brand that she bought at a deep discount at Tuesday Morning (who knew they sold yarn).  Rather than self striping with colors, it self stripes with texture.  She was making a scarf with just plain old garter stitch, but the amazing yarn made it look quite different.

Welcome back, Tassereine.  Unfortunately, she didn't bring cupcakes this time (boo hoo), but she did bring the Glitter Diamond Knee Socks that she had been knitting last time she joined us.
Those were just for show and tell.  Tassereine was knitting a Coin Lace & Cable Wrap in some unidentified (but quite lovely) yarn.

Hrvdmnky had some wonderful yarn, once again.  She was working on a toddler hat of her own design

in the most beautiful variegated yarn from Fresh From the Cauldron.  The yarn is named "Pure Imagination" after the song from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Speaking of Chocolate, Chockelet was there with her finished Ravellenics shawl to show off.
She bought the yarn at the Stitch and Pitch night with the Mariners.  She was knitting on her linen stitch scarf.

Anerenbe, new to our group (welcome!) was working on a special project for her Grandma.  Grandma needs to keep one arm elevated during the night while sleeping, and that arm gets cold because it is out of the covers.  So Anerenbe was making a special sleeve/arm warmer/arm blanket (we weren't sure what to call it.)  The yarn is a very soft Cascade Superwash 128 bulky in a beautiful, silver, and wow, it was knitting up quickly.

I should have taken before AND after photos because, Anerenbe was half way down the arm by the time we left.

Tara1682 brought her beautiful Madelinetosh Tart yarn and was working on her Autumn Vines Beret, designed by Alana Dakos.   Sorry, again, the yarn looks horrible in the photos (red is difficult to capture, and with bad lighting... well, sorry).

Our final Stitcher was Angelvet.  She was working on a Color Affection.
I was so proud of myself, because I took one look at her partially finished shawl and knew the pattern!  Of course, it isn't difficult as this pattern is very distinctive.

That's all for tonight.  Stitchers who couldn't make it, we really missed you!  Hurry back.  Anyone in the area, living or visiting, please feel free to join us on any Wednesday night.

Stay safe and well.
Yours,
f1bercat
