I rode to Sunday knitting at Panera's in Redmond this morning. Knit for about 1.5 hours on my Tour de Sock Stage 5 socks (seemed appropriate) then got back on the bike, and went the rest of the way around the lake. Google Maps says it was 38.9 km (24.2 miles ). Although there were some serious hills on East Lake Sammamish, I only had to walk on the last bit of hill in Issaquah coming up to the roundabout near Sunset Elementary School and I90. The last mile, from where Northup meets W. Lk. Samm. Blvd. to NE 15th Pl. was about 100 miles long. And it took about 1 hour. Some teenaged boys went by in a car and hooted at me. I chose to think that they were rooting me on.

shaping the planet with a super sore butt, even though I wore my new bike shorts!
PS. City of Sammamish: FINISH THE TRAIL ALONG E. LAKE SAMMAMISH!!!! As I was chugging slowly up yet another incline, I could see the unfinished gravel/dirt trail below me, nice and flat.....
WOW... that is awesome!!! I am impressed! It is not an easy ride... a lot of traffic around the lake. Them there hills are BIGGER than they look when driving.
