Wow, this is a really neat square. I hope I hooked
it correctly, it looks right anyway. I
did this tutorial at night trying to get ahead of the game, because I knew I
would be busy November 1. If you find
the photos too dark, please let me know and I will reshoot them. This is for you. I want you to be able to see what to do if
you have questions. Also, as I was
getting ready to post I noticed I missed a few photo steps at the end. I guess I was getting tired. I will try to get those steps photographed as
soon as possible, but I think you can figure this out regardless. I am attending the Whidbey Island FiberQuestwith a Twist Friday, and KnitFit on Saturday and Sunday, so it may be Monday
when I fix this. Hope that is ok. If you are having a real problem, I will be
checking in and also on Ravelry, and you can leave me a message here or there,
and I will try to help figure things out.

square is 7"x 7".
When
I make the one for my Blue, Blue, and White Afghan (for my son, Pookie), I will
stop the increases at row 8. For this
one, since I am putting it in an afghan with all 12 x 12 squares, I will just
hook a border until it is 12 x 12.
I
love the textured scalloped look to this block.
From far away, you only notice the cool diagonal stripe, but, if you get
up close, you can see the "shells."
