Eastside Stitchers Cheer On MsWiz and Rain of Terror

Hello!

Great night at the Eastside Stitchers meet up at Crossroads Mall in Bellevue.

First we are all congratulating our friend MsWiz who was not present because she was at the Westminster Dog Show in New York with her champion Eskimo, Ms. Wiz's Rain of Terror.  Rain won best of opposite sex in the show.  So absolutely exciting!

So, who did show up to knit, and what were they working on?

Skeinherder has finished the first of her Smaug socks.

She was casting on the second sock in the scrumptious Miss Babs Yummy in the "Oregon Mist" colorway.

Skeinherder brought her Christmas Gnome Family, made with the Jolly Wee Elf pattern from Churchmouse Yarn and Teas.  She has finished herself, her husband, and 2 of their cats.  Yes!  Cat Gnomes!

Tara1682 was making French Press Slippers version 2.  She made a beautiful pair for herself already.  I had fun listening to her describe the felting process.

The new ones are still in pieces.

But, she is well on the way to owning two pairs of beautiful French Press Slippers.

Colleen was once again working on her crocheting techniques.  She is making headbands with flowers for an upcoming YMCA fundraiser.

GwenS was working on her Clockwork shawl. She is using yarn from Huckleberry Knits and Periwinkle Sheep.

We had a visiting Stitcher from Canada, Lookout.  No, don't you look out, "Lookout" is the name of our Canadian visitor.  She was working on a pair of socks in a pretty blue yarn from Austermann Step.

Redbird1 was working on her beautiful Biscuit cowl.

Vanesapolo was swatching for a new sweater she is designing.

She was wearing a beautiful Mona's Jacket by Mags Kandis. 

And last, but certainly not least, Hrvdmnky was knitting a second Log Cabin Afghan.

Many of us will be at Madrona this weekend.  I will be there on Friday.  I don't plan to take a class, just hang out and knit (as usual), and perhaps look for yellow sock yarn in the market. A warning to those who might want to join us at Crossroads on this coming Wednesday (Feb 15, 2013), there will be no Eastside Stitchers Fiber Friday as most of us (including me) will be at Madrona.  I hope to see you there.  Please come up and say hi.

Those of you who are sick (there are a few bugs going around here), get well soon.  We missed you.  And once more, Congratulations MsWiz and Ms. Wiz's Rain of Terror on your victory at Westminster.

Eastside Stitchers February!

Hello:

So happy to be back with my regular Eastside Stitchers Wednesday night meet up at Crossroads Mall in Bellevue.  I missed just one week, but I felt so behind on everyone's projects.

Who was there?  And, what were they stitching?

Colleen started with a crochet project.  She wants to make a set of headbands, so was practicing her technique.

She then settled in on one of her beautiful baby blankets for charity.

MsWiz was knitting a scarf in some super chunky yarn.  This will just fly off the needles.

GwenS was knitting her Clockwork by Stephen West.  And making some real progress.  I think GwenS has changed yarn and color at least 3 times for this shawl.

Skeinherder brought her Smaug to show off.  This sock pattern is amazing.  We are both knitting it for SKA's February designer challenge.

She was also sewing the final toe seams, and weaving in the ends of her Curling Tendril socks by Melissa J. Goodale.

Redbird1 was starting a new cowl.  This one is Biscuit by Bonnie Sennott.

Our Redbird1's knitting is famous!  She did a test knit for Jared Flood, and it is in his new book.  She knit the Guernsey Triangle.  It is really beautiful.

Vanesapolo brought her beautiful Chanel Jacket that she sewed herself.

She spent a lot of time making stitch markers,

and then worked on a ribbed hat that goes with the really cool vest she designed herself.

Vanesa's knitting is also famous.  She knit a Brioche Vest by Meg Swanson and it has been featured on the pattern page.

Vanesa brought one more sewing project, a project bag.  Our group has been taking about doing a project bag exchange.

Wajio brought the mystery socks she has been knitting.  I think she has 1 more repeat of the pattern, then she will be finished.

Choclatier07 was also knitting socks.  The pattern is My Cup of Tea by Robin Lynn.  This photo does not do the yarn justice.

She brought her Cruiser Mittens for Show and Tell.

Speaking of Show and Tell, Tara1682 brought her finished French Press Felted Slippers by Melynda Bernardi.

What was Tara working on tonight?  Another pair of slippers.

Chockelet brought her o so colorful Wrap Me UP by Chris de Longpre.

Amigurl was working on her socks. I think they are just lovely.

Lastly, Hvrdmkny was knitting a log cabin baby blanket.  She has been cleaning out her WIP's and making great progress.

Eastside Stitchers Come In Out of the Cold

Hello,  Look! Skeinherder knit a cat gnome to watch over our stitching group along with her Husband and Wife gnomes.

Eastside Stitchers met at Crossroads Mall for our regular Wednesday Stitch Night.  Our group is so full and busy now.  We always need to push tables together.  I just love how much fun we have.

Ellyol was there but had to leave early... And I did not grab a photo of her latest project.  Sorry, Ellyol.

In addition to bringing her new Cat Gnome, Skeinherder brought her Honeycomb Mesh Scarf by Churchmouse Yarn and Teas. Her yarn is Firwood Farm Alpacas, Alpaca and Silk.

Tara1682 has made huge progress on her French Press Felted Slippers.  I mean huge progress on her HUGE slippers.

Anerenbe started a new hat, Mezwolam by Tina Hees.  This is a bit of a deja vu since she just finished one of these hats, but since she is using different yarn on this one, Malabrigo Aroyo, does it count as a completely new project?

We shall check in on Anerenbe at the end of the night and see her progress.

Vanesapolo was working on her mitered mittens by Elizabeth Zimmerman.  These are from the book, Knitters' Almanac.

Vanesapolo also brought some gorgeous Yark yarn to show and tell.

MsWiz was knitting an entrelac cowl.  She is taking an Craftzy course.  It is really pretty.  The cowl I mean.

Colleen was starting a new baby  blanket in lavender.  Ha.  I know, we are thinking we have seen this before.  But, Colleen makes these blankets for kids who were born addicted to drugs, and there are some strick specifics on how to make them.  You have to use very soft yarn that is in soft colors so as to not over stimulate the kids.  Her yarn and color choice are perfect.

Our shy new knitter, Angel, is finally allowing me to debut her current project.  She is working on a pair of fingerless mitts.

GwenS was knitting a Super Secret Cowl.  Enough said.  I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.

Wajio brought her mystery kal socks.  The designer is KnitPurlHunter, and the socks are called Crimple.

Amigirl was still working on her Sprucey Lucy socks in Hazelknits.

 

Redbird1 has almost finished the body of her Fiber BF Jared Flood's Eternity Cardigan.  She is still on track to have the sweater finished in time for Madrona next month.

Finally, for a bit more Show and Tell, Skeinherder brought her January socks for SKA's January Challenge

Redbird1 brought her newest yarn purchases.  Most of these are from Portland, Oregon.

OOOOOOOOOOOO.   AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.  Beautiful yarn.

Hrvdmnky came near the end.  She brought 2 bags full of her show and tell doilies.

Hrvdmnky also brought her current socks to knit .
