Arne and Carlos of Knitted Balls, and other fun fun fun knitting books, taught a few classes at the Nordic Knitting Conference in Ballard (a neighborhood of Seattle) this weekend.  This conference happens every two years, and last time, they came too, and I didn't take a class because I thought, well, I already know how to make their Christmas Balls, but then I realized that it wasn't really about learning anything, just hanging out with them.

They were well worth hanging out with.  They are funny and fun and very unassuming.  They told stories about when they were fashion designers, and about their travels, and about just knitting in general.

I really reined it in and worked on my hat.  But I was really happy when Arne told me that my knitting looked very even.

Hello:
Today at the Nordic Knitting Conference in Ballard (a neighborhood in Seattle), I took a class with Arne and Carlos to make a 4 color stranded hat.  Arne gave me some suggestions on how to knit more evenly (yay, because my stranded knitting is very lumpy looking), and I am really happy with how the hat is coming along.

Hello:
ha ha ha for the class I took today on Knitted Braids at the Nordic Knitting Conference in Ballard (a neighborhood in Seattle), we were supposed to knit a 44 stitch 2 x 2 ribbing circle in a light color and then bring 3 contrasting colors.  Well, I brought black instead, and I just love how the colors look with it in the braids.

It was really fun to see VanesaPolo's WackyWings shawlette on display at the Nordic Knitting Conference in Ballard.  Acorn Street Yarn Shop had a bunch of really pretty Zauberball's and I was tempted to buy one and knit another!

I was at the Meany Theater at the University of Washington tonight to watch the Mark Morris Dance Company perform a new piece, "Layla and Majnun."  All I can say is that it was mesmerizing.
